Year of the Rabbit

It's Chinese New Year today! Traditionally a celebration of new beginnings and the coming of spring. Houses are cleaned to sweep out the old and decorated with fruit plants and flowers; families gather to celebrate and a lot of eating takes place.

Outside, there's midnight flower markets, lanterns, firecrackers and dragon dances.

This year is the year of the bunny rabbit. Here's to a new year of health and happiness! ~*~

A walk in the forest

On a walk through the woods, you come to a glade. The sun is setting and the low light filters through the treetops. There's a still lake up ahead. The only sound you hear is that of the dusk chorus.

Imagine the colour of the light filtered through the leaves overhead...
