Redecorations

Changed the blog design and layout slightly, just to freshen things a little. The templates are really user friendly now compared to how things used to be generally.

I like it! =D

Made a few new bracelets yesterday. The Chinese knot based one my cousin made for me years ago I have now remade (it snapped, much to my distress), it's actually really simple to do.

Listed some new earrings on Etsy, Fly Home.

Un petit morceau de mon coeur

The sterling silver chains arrived over the weekend so I could start making some of my favourite dainty necklaces.

This one with an adorable porcelain dove had its first conception quite a few years ago, when I first started making my own jewellery. The pearl on my mine is a darker plum colour and I would have tried getting pearls of similar colour but thought it would be nice to have it slightly different, to keep them one-offs.

See it in my Etsy shop ~♥~

I love my new necklace display, makes things so much easier to photograph. =D

Charms

Some things sit in my stash of supplies, waiting to be made into something beautiful. I generally buy beads and findings with an idea of how to use them at some point.

I love fimo roses. The smaller the better because I imagine the smaller they are, the harder they are to make to actually look like little roses.

As I've also finally worked out how to do simple knot work using the pretty satin ribbon cords I found a while ago and my lovely 'Beginners in Chinese knotting' book, I decided to try it all out together in the form of charms.

Here's a pink one

Here's another version in yellow

And here's a more traditional one using a carnelian butterfly that used to be in a necklace which didn't quite work

I'm working on another one now that uses a darker fimo rose, going to try for the gothic Victorian style I think.
